Communion Meditation: The Preserver of our Souls

Our gospel lesson this morning teaches us that Joseph is the great preserver. He—by his faithfulness—preserves his family, but much more than that, he preserves the One who will become His preserver. The Christ child will become Joseph’s protector in this life and in the next.

At this table, Christ does not forsake us. He does not let us starve and he will not let us perish at the hands of principalities and power. At this table, the preserver of Joseph preserves, protects, and provides for us with abundant food to nourish our souls. Amen.
